ensuring the security of your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use,
disclose, and protect your Personal Information in compliance with the Protection of Personal
Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
By using our Platform, you consent to the processing of your Personal Information as described
in this Policy.
1. SCOPE AND KEY DEFINITIONS
1.1. The Platform’s Role: We act as a responsible party in terms of POPIA. As a marketplace,
we facilitate transactions between buyers and third-party sellers. This means that to fulfil your
orders, we must share relevant data with the specific Seller involved in your transaction, who
also becomes a responsible party for that data.
1.2. Personal Information: Information relating to an identifiable, living, natural person, and
where it is applicable, an identifiable, existing juristic person, including, but not limited to, name,
contact details, location, and payment details.
1.3. Data Subject: The person to whom the Personal Information relates (i.e., you, the Buyer or
Seller).
1.4. Responsible Party: The entity that determines the purpose and means for processing
Personal Information (The Platform and, separately, the Seller).

site traffic, and support advertising efforts. You can manage cookie settings in your
browser.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION (PROCESSING)
We process your Personal Information primarily to operate the Marketplace and fulfil the
contracts of sale.

4. SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION (DISCLOSURE)
We only share your information with third parties necessary to perform the service or as legally

4.1. Sharing with Sellers (Essential for Transactions)
● When a Buyer places an order, the following information is shared with the specific
Seller who is supplying the Goods: the Buyer’s name, delivery address, contact
telephone number, and the details of the purchased products. This is essential for the
Seller to process, package, and dispatch the order.
● When a Seller makes a sale, the following information is shared with the Buyer: the
Seller’s trading name and potentially their contact details for warranty or support
purposes.
4.2. Third-Party Service Providers
We use trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Platform. These
include:
- Payment Gateways: To securely process payments and refunds (we do not store full payment card details).
- Logistics and Couriers: To facilitate the delivery or collection of goods.
- IT Support: Cloud hosting, security, and data analytics partners.
These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and are only authorised to use the data
to perform the contracted services.
4.3. Legal and Regulatory Disclosure
We may disclose your Personal Information if required by law, court order, or governmental
authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, property, or safety, or the
safety of others.
5. INTERNATIONAL (CROSS-BORDER) DATA TRANSFER
Your Personal Information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside of South
Africa where our service providers (e.g., cloud hosting) maintain facilities.
We will only transfer your data across borders if:
- 1. The recipient country provides an adequate level of protection, or;
- 2. The transfer is necessary for the performance of a contract (e.g., if a Seller uses an international courier), or;
- 3. We have entered into a contract with the recipient that subjects them to POPIA-like data protection standards.
6. SECURITY AND DATA RETENTION
6.1. Security Measures: We implement appropriate technical and organisational security
measures (including encryption, access controls, and secure physical storage) to protect your
Personal Information against unauthorised access, disclosure, or accidental loss.
6.2. Data Retention: We will retain your Personal Information only for as long as necessary to
fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, to provide services to you, to resolve disputes, and
to comply with our legal obligations (such as tax and accounting record-keeping). After this
period, the data will be securely destroyed or anonymised.
7. YOUR RIGHTS AS A DATA SUBJECT (POPIA RIGHTS)
In terms of POPIA, you have the right to:
- 1. Be Informed: Know what data is being collected (as per this policy)
- 2. Access: Request access to the Personal Information we hold about you.
- 3. Correction: Request the correction or deletion of inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, or misleading Personal Information.
- 4. Objection: Object to the processing of your Personal Information for direct marketing purposes (you can opt-out at any time).
- 5. Deletion: Request the destruction or deletion of your Personal Information, subject to our overriding legal obligations to retain records.
- 6. Complain: Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe your rights under POPIA have been violated.
